Christmas Tree Garland

I decided to take some of the craft ideas mentioned in the article, “Holiday Decorating Ideas with Paper Illusions” and try them out with my kids in preparation for Christmas this year. I figured we’d start with Decorating Idea #6:

Recruit the kids to make garland for the stairway or Christmas tree. Just tear strips of PaperIllusion and dip the ends of each piece in warm water so they adhere onto themselves. Join the chain of garland pieces together one by one until you’ve achieved the desired length.

So, I gathered my 2-1/2 year old and almost 4 year old around the dining room table, laid out a towel and presented each child with a small bowl of warm water. (more…)

Camoflage Is Not Just For Kids

Hearthstone Camoflage Paper Illusions ColorThe Hearthstone for Kids Camoflage color is NOT just for kids, as I have been told by three different people and I have to agree.

This color as pictured here is a dark green color with various shades of greens, grays and browns.

While it would be suitable in a kids room where an army or camouflage theme is prevalent, it is not limited to decorating a children’s room. (more…)

started her home office makeover late last year.

“Last week I ordered samples from www.wallpaperillusions.com. This is a super-simple room make-over solution for NON decorator types (ie ME). I have been going back and forth for months now on whether I want to wallpaper or paint this room… and not being experienced at either, I was having a hard time making a decision on which way to go.

Matching Dye Lots of PaperIllusion

Unlike regular wallpaper, PaperIllusion™ does not have run or dye lot numbers ascribed to it. While it is manufactured in large batches, it is not identified by each batch. I’m guessing the idea is you don’t need to worry about trying to match one roll to the next. Since there are so many color/shade variations within each pattern, it wouldn’t be that noticeable if you had rolls from two different batches. (more…)
