Counter tops covered with Travertine Marble French Vanilla Paper Illusions

“I just resurfaced my kitchen counter yesterday with PaperIllusion® wallpaper…I am SO happy with how it turned out. Total cost was only $50 and it completely changed the look of my kitchen.

“I was very skeptical when I read about using wallpaper, but I (and my husband) love how it turned out. I highly suggest giving it a try. I am not a “crafty” person at all and this was a breeze. Here are some pictures of my finished countertops…

“…I was very hesitant to do this for fear of hating it and having to buy new countertops in the end. We love it though and have had rave reviews from everyone who has come over. People just can’t believe it’s wallpaper.

“At $50 total cost and about 5 hours of time I recommend it for anyone who hates their current counters.” ~ Mandie

I am thinking of re-doing my countertops in my house in Mexico. The countertops are made of concrete. Would this method work on concrete and if so would there be any changes in the application?

    Thank you.

You would need to use a primer specifically formulated for covering concrete surfaces, but other than that, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

Do you seal the tops of your counters after applying the paper? I’m just wondering what protects it from every day use, moisture and etc. I have it on my bathroom walls and I love it.

I want to use this to redop my kitchen counters. My concern is how durable is the surface. Woud the polyurathane be affected by heat or things like detergents ? I have a very “busy” kitchen so the occassional warm pot may be put on the counter and of course I have to clean my counters often. Many thanks!
