I just finsished reading your How-To PaperIllusion Manual and found all the information very helpful & informative. I have also just ordered the Large Complete Sample Pack and can’t wait to receive it so I can pick out the colors I need for the projects I have in mind. I also like the idea that I can do this by myself if I wish to without any help from my hubby. Thank you so much for providing this manual!! By having this information, it made it easier for me to make my decision to buy Paper Illusions.

Thank you, Shelly. Yes, it’s empowering to know that you can do this without having to wait on your husband…and I’m sure he appreciates that as well. But even if he does get involved, he’ll be impressed with how easy it is. Enjoy!

    Carrie,
Please can I continue with the 7 day course
online. I am having trouble downloading
the piguide. I don’t know a lot about computers
anyway. I had the first lesson sent to my
e-mail yesterday. Looking forward to the
second lesson. Thanks so very much.

    Hi Marilyn,

Certainly, the course will still continue. If after the course, you still have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

What kind of trouble were you having with the download? Were you able to see it on the computer? If it was a problem on our end, I’d like to fix it. If it was a problem on your end and I can help, I’d like to help you. The guide is a good resource to have…all the info in one place.

Thanks for your interest in this fun & easy product.

    Carrie

You probably couldn’t find it because it was a PDF file. In order to read it on your computer you would need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer, it’s a free piece of software and very well-known (& widely used)…you can learn more about it & download it for free here: http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/

Carrie, I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to put together the How-to-Guide! I enjoyed reading all of it and can hardly wait to get started. So, I am forcing myself to slow down and carefully messure and prepare the surface. I want nothing but the best results. I have waited too long to find a product that would cover these walls in my mobile home . I want to do it the right way the first time.
Thank you again for the time you have spent making sure we have all of the information we need to be the best advertisments you could ask for! And share I will!
    Pat

    You are very welcome, Pat.

I know I personally am hesitant to try new things for fear of messing it up, and that’s the perspective I was coming from when I put this together. There are a lot of people who see this product and think, “Wow – that sounds neat”, but that’s as far as they get because they think surely it’s not that easy.

I figured if I laid out step by step all that’s needed to use Paper Illusions, it would give people the confidence (and gentle nudge) to go ahead and give it a shot.

Once you use it for yourself, you’re convinced you can do it and often times end up looking for other projects you can do with this stuff. Seeing is believing.

    Enjoy!

Carrie – the PI guide is great – hoping to start
soon on my dining room which is paneling as
    my first project.

    Hi Carrie,
I enjoyed reading the guide and I’m looking forward to playing with this product.

    Thanks

    Happy New Year Carrie:

What products are available to seal the Paper Illusions wallpaper after installation? I could not find any in your guide.

I am concerned of the wallpaper lifting up and it begin to peel. How do those individuals who install this product on countertops and floors keep it from lifting?

Thanks for your anticipated help in this matter.

  • Carrie Wigal // Jan 18, 2008 at 8:39 am

    Happy New Year, Deborah!

You can use a polycryllic…I believe that’s a brand name. That would be for sealing counters & floors…apply several (at least 4) thin coats. You don’t need to seal it when applying it as a general wall application.

    Have fun papering it!

Well, I got your guide because the instructions that came with the product were so brief. I was afraid I would do something dumb, and needed reassurance. This guide gave it, and more. I have put the Paper Illusions up around a bar that had yucky old paneling. It turned out great. My husband, who is totally blind, was able to help and did at least half of the work. It was fun to do this project together with him. It is the perfect and affordable solution to yucky old paneling.

Thanks for the great guide and confidence builder. Now we are going to try some cabinets.

We saw the Paper Illusions in the kitchen of some friends. It looked wonderful and was unlike anything we had seen. She had purchased it at Sherwin Williams, so we went to the store to check it out. However, they had a limited selection and the directions on the box were limited as well. So I googled it and came to your site and your guide which answered my questions. Thanks so much!
We have a bathroom previously papered by someone else who removed the previous paper and tore the covering on the sheetrock, then hung the new paper without repairing the surface. Needless to say, the paper looks terrible with lots of uneven surfaces and bumps. We’ve been at a loss as to what to do without a tremendous amount of time and work. We also have a panelled den that we’d like to update.

Thanks for your site, tips and project guides. I can’t wait to get started – after we order some samples!

I bought paper illusions at Lowes. I did my hall with it. It was easy to do but I feel the painted faux finish looks better. Just my opinion. I can’t see how it would work on a countertop and that was my reason for buying it. I bought a darker green color and felt the white veins a little too much contrast. The guide was good but how would you make those countertops usable?

  • Marilyn // Mar 25, 2008 at 6:42 am

    Carrie,
I found your guide to be very helpful and I
did my living room wall. It turned out
absolutely beautiful! So easy to do! Lots
of complements on it from various ones who
visit. Thanks so very much for your
    website and guide!

Hey Carrie, just wanted to give you a big THANK YOU for the Guide and all the information you have been sending me. I have just moved into an old old mobile home that BADLY needs covering for the walls. Problem is, I’m on a tight budget, my time is limitied and I am scared to death of big complicated jobs.

I am very excited to get going with Paper Illusions!

    Will send pictures!

    Thanks again!

Hi ,wanted to let you know I got the manual and went right out and bought some paper illlusions to do my kitchen counter tops.
I had them done in one day from start to finish –moving everything ,sealing it 3 times with polyacrilic and putting everything back.
I thought it looked like brand new counters but really didn’t expect my son or husband to notice (even though they were home all day :) ) but they did notice and say how great they looked! Lo0ks like I got a brand new kitchen!
Next –the awful paneling in the living room –it is so easy to do and fun too!
Thanks for the help and good ideas —I never would have thought to use this on my counters!
    God Bless! Thanks again, Alma
