In the spring of this year, I received an email from a woman named Jane, who found Paper It Fun! and thought it was wonderful what we were doing here, promoting all that could be done with PaperIllusion. Well, when she mentioned she was the designer of this product, I couldn’t believe it. I quickly did a Google search on her name and although I found quite a bit of information on her affiliation with stenciling and Plaid Enterprises, I couldn’t find anything on her affiliation with this product. Naturally, my curiosity was peeked.
She invited me to give her a call and we could “chat” about this product and share any stories I might be interested in hearing about the early days of Paper Illusions. While I very much wanted to meet up with her on the phone, it was rather hectic around here and months went by.
Then late in June I got in touch with her and we spoke briefly over the phone…what a delight she was to speak to. After that we maintained some email correspondence just before and after the birth of my son last month, and I must tell you, this is one sweet lady.
She was very interested in helping out in the Paper It Fun! community, answering questions and providing more information about the history of this product, how could I possibly say no? So I invited her to moderate the “Ask the Experts” and “Product Development” topics at the forum and encouraged her participation here on the blog. Some of you have already had the chance to converse with her on the Forum, and I’ve introduced her to a few of you via email, but now I’d like to formally introduce her to all of you here at Paper It Fun!
Her name is Jane Gauss and it has been a real pleasure getting to know her! I asked her to write a brief bio for you and although she emailed it to me a few weeks ago, I’m just now getting to publish it. After having read it myself, I felt like I got to know her a lot better. I like her…I mean, I would consider her a friend, not just someone who’s a professional interior designer that is too good or experienced to talk to some novice home owner (such as myself) who just wants to make her home look less cold & uninviting. She is very personable and sincere. She obviously has a strong background in home decorating, and I found her to be very relatable and down-to-earth. I encourage you to get to know her yourself. Take a few minutes to introduce yourself and if you have any burning questions about PaperIllusion, then by all means ask her. She wants to get to know you and help you with your decorating needs too, believe me.
It’s not every day you have the chance to talk directly to the designer of a product, pick their brain and offer your own personal experiences. Take advantage of this opportunity while you have it!
Read her biography, then be sure to introduce yourself & welcome her to the Paper It Fun! community.
