Thank you Alex and Victoria…I’m hoping to focus on some problem surface areas for the next issue. We’ve got some personal projects lined up and hope they will prove to be inspiring. I know I’m anxious to get them done myself.

Hi Carrie,
Thank you for prompt service and delivery. The advice was excellent and no one that walks into my kitchen can believe I did not buy a new counter! Everyone is raving and telling someone else about my project (I had promised myself not to tell anyone about this project I found on the net because I did not want to deal with the negativity about what a stupid idea…, etc.), and they can’t believe it is wallpaper and polyurethane.
However, my son came in the kitchen when I was just beginning the project and blew a gasket! He couldn’t believe what I was doing and stated I should of left well enough alone until I could replace the counter. Feeling both afraid (this was really going to turn out looking horrific), and courageous (if others have done this, I can do this). I told him I didn’t need to hear any negativity and a few other words regarding being supportive. You should hear him now, “…it looks like marble…you did a nice job”.
In fact, my best friend’s husband sold me the house in March and we knew I had to invest in a new counter (the mica was worn through in spots and there were burn and scorch marks by the stove). But, I wanted to spend money on my three seasons room (new furniture, paint and carpet), and I knew I couldn’t afford to redo both.
Well, after completing the project, I invite my friend over to see the progress I have made in the kitchen with fresh paint, refinished cabinets and flooring. She walks into the kitchen and comments on what a nice counter I picked out for the kitchen. I laughed, and then of course, let out my secret. She was amazed; she said she wouldn’t tell anyone it wasn’t the real thing, as did my sister (these women are, in my opinion, design savvy and have beautiful homes and yards…the best quality, etc.).
So, if it passed their inspection, I believe I did a nice job and I want to thank you and the women who sent you pictures of their resurfaced kitchen counters, using Paper Illusions.
My best regards to you, your family and business,
Marie Kaemmerlen

You have a picture of a green marble colored wall you have entitled Sageroom2…but you don’t have a Sage color. Can you please tell me what color was actually used? It’s the room with the green picture frame on a shelf with flowers. Thanks!
Carrie Wigal // Oct 29, 2007 at 8:00 am
Hi Angel,
I used to think the color was Fresco Green, but now I’m not so sure. I believe there was a color called Sage at one time but it is no longer available.
