Wallpaper Illusions had the bright idea…actually my husband did, of offering partial rolls of PaperIllusion for those who just needed a little bit more. And it seems to be quite a hot seller. He reminds me constantly it was his idea. However it was I who coined the phrase “Mini Roll”.
Anyway, since PaperIllusion comes in 85 square foot rolls it can be very frustrating when you only need a little bit more to think you have to spend an additional $30-60 (depending where you purchase it) just to complete a nearly finished project. So we thought why not cut the rolls ourselves and offer them as a convenience product.
Occasionally we find ourselves questioning the idea of offering this item since it is so time-consuming to prepare and package, but we ultimately decide to continue to offer it since there’s obviously a demand for it … people keep buying them.
Some use the mini-rolls for small projects like a bathroom countertop or a coffee table top. This really offers anyone the opportunity to do a quick & easy makeover for very little cost. Not to mention, trying out different colors/illusions without breaking your piggy bank has never been easier.
Also, if you use up all your boxes to complete a project, purchasing a mini-roll in the same color and keeping it on hand for future repairs is a great idea.
My question is how can we do it better?
- Should the partial rolls be larger or are they big enough? (they are currently 13 square feet)
- Is the packaging suitable? (currently they are rolled & wrapped in kraft paper)
- What else should we include with the roll? (currently we include a copy of installation instructions)
- Is the price right? (currently we are charging about 1/6 of the full retail price since it is 1/6 of a full roll)
If you’ve purchased a mini-roll, let us know what you think…
Thanks!

PS. You can find these mini-rolls only at Wallpaper Illusions.
