Paper It Fun!

ALWAYS, ALWAYS order more than you think you need, or call Carrie first and determine exactly how much you need before you jump in with both feet!

And I’d have to say, I agree. While you don’t have to call me to determine how much you need, here are some helpful resources: How to Faux Finish, a free 7-day ecourse and Wallpaper Calculators: Consider this first…, an article I wrote a while back. Although the article was geared towards regular wallpaper vs. PaperIllusion, it is useful information.

Not ordering enough can be very frustrating, especially if the pattern is temporarily out of stock…nothing like having a wall half-done. And in Ginny’s case when she ordered more, the color was slightly off from what she had already received. Even though there’s no run #/dye lot given on this product, they are obviously produced in batches. And sometimes there is a color variation from batch to batch. Usually it’s not noticeable, but in her case it was. And it’s impossible to find an exact match unless you purchase the rolls (boxes) at the same time. So, lesson learned…be sure to order enough to complete your project.

I know this can be difficult with this kind of paper, because of the type of application, overlapping torn pieces versus hanging cut strips. But it’s better to be safe than sorry, order extra.

Another reason for having extra on hand is for future repairs. If a child scribbles all over your walls with a Black Sharpie pen (like ours did), it’s super easy to repair (unlike with regular wallpaper)…just rip off a new piece, wet it and slap it up over top of the blemish.

Not to mention, if you have way too much left over, you can always do another project or quick craft to tie in some other pieces in your room.
